![]() The beach is super pretty there and you'll be able to see starfish and turtles (in fall/winter that is, at least). If you want a relaxing holiday and stay at the resort most of the time, and not eat out, you may want to check out the Barcelo Bavaro (Adults only) hotel. It gets quite a bit quieter the closer you get to the Punta Bavaro. (Though I obviously cannot say how much noise gets into the Royal Beach hotel complex.) I just felt the area is mostly party. Lots of noise during the day and at night. There are lots of water sports and boats around the area you want to stay at, and a bunch of bars. We are staying at the Playa Turquesa Ocean Club and walked down the beach a few times, up to the playa bibijagua. Secondly, you say you want a relaxing vacation and not a party place. It may be better down at the Punta Bavaro, but I recommend you do your due diligence and research that. If you want to travel anywhere during the summer months, I definitely do not recommend this area. We only chose to travel here because it's getting bearable in the end of October. They remove it twice a day and the beach is still full of it. However, there are two things you need to know: if you travel here between May and October, there is a lot of seaweed in the ocean. I'm asking because "next year" could be anything from January (after a NYE wedding) over June (month were the most weddings take place) to December. Is it worth it for the upgraded (preferred/xhale) or just book the nicest base room. I know this may come off as pretentious or something but we have never done all inclusive. We're ok with that as long as we can also relax some, were in our thirties and don't want to fight over beach chairs with a bunch of drunk college kids lol.Īnd secrets cap Cana which is not a preferred room but does seem to be by far the nicest of the bunch in terms of beach, amenities, and service. They are all the same price and same length of time. Genesis and Maria did an amazing job with housekeeping and turn down service.My wife and I are planning our honeymoon for next year. Kudos to Freyman for golf carting my wife around property as needed as she was recovering from knee surgery. Its just too bad they are not more proactive with this. Make sure to call this to the pool staff's attention if your affected and cant find a desirable spot - they were helpful to us and found some nice real estate when needed. Unfortunately, staff does not supervise or policy this policy.very annoying. You will find signs posted around the pool areas and on the beach advising that guests may not "reserve" chaise lounges, sunbeds and cabanas - yet that is exactly what everyone seems to do. Entertainment at the pool and at the theater was very good. My favorites were the Asian and Mexican restaurants, but none of them really shined. outstanding! Dinners were disappointingly hit or miss. I wish I could hire him back home for plumbing, electrical repairs, you name it! Breakfasts and lunch buffets were remarkable with tremendous selections and everything was amazingly om snapper to pizza. We were always running into him as the property apparently kept him very busy. ![]() He instantly became our best friend on the property even though he did not speak much English. He was remarkable and a highly skilled maintenance tech, with a wonderful and smiley personality. After check in it took us two hours before we could start to enjoy the property as we were tied up in our room with Juan from the maintenance staff. We ran the Jacuzzi one night, and that caused a major leak in the unit below us. ![]() Our room had many issues.requiring AC repair, toilet repair, broken room fridge.
